Bogor, Indonesia: Bogor’s burgeoning reputation as one of Asia’s most appealing golfing getaways is set to gather pace with the staging of a record-breaking new tournament.
As well as offering prizes worth a total of more than US$80,000, the latest Bogor Wonderful Golf promotion is poised to create two new Indonesian golfing records.
To be held on September 7-8 at no fewer than 11 courses within the Bogor region, the friendly event is open to golfers of all ages, gender and abilities.
Organisers, who are taking entries from all over Asia, say it’s the most number of courses ever used in Indonesia for one event.
Furthermore, with a target of 1,200 players it will surpass the previous highest turnout for a golf event in Indonesia – 900 in Batam.
Extra enticement for participants is the raft of outstanding lucky draw prizes on offer, including 11 motorcycles and the grand prize of a Toyota Sienta, valued at RP250 million (about US$19,000).
Meanwhile, a Toyota Kayla, valued at RP150 million (about US$11,400) is up for grabs as a hole-in-one prize at all tournament venues along with three cash prizes of RP50 million (about US$3,800).
To accommodate golfers from around the region, a range of special packages spanning four days and three nights and five days and four nights have been made available.
Adding to the appeal is the fact that entrants are able to select which of Bogor’s outstanding courses they would like to play and they’re also able to choose which hotel to stay at.
The special Bogor Wonderful Golf promotion comes in the wake of the formation of Bogor Heavenly Golf – a consortium of six world-class golf clubs in the vicinity.
Made up of Bogor Raya, Emeralda Golf Club, Rainbow Hills, Rancamaya Golf Club, Riverside Golf Club and Sentul Highlands Golf Club, Bogor Heavenly Golf comprises a sextet of award-winning courses, sculpted by some of the best-known names in golf.
All are participating in the Bogor Wonderful Golf promotion along with an array of four and five-star hotels in both Bogor and Jakarta.
Riverside Golf Club and Sentul Highlands Golf Club are Golf Facility Members of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
A spokesperson for Baltic Tour and Travel, Indonesia’s foremost golf tour operator, said: “Since the launch of Bogor Heavenly Golf, we’ve seen a significant increase in the number of golfers visiting Bogor and experiencing the delights of the courses there.
