Singapore: Jacobsen has pledged to continue its commitment to supporting educational initiatives within the golf industry in Asia.
An Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF), Jacobsen has been a strong backer of the federation’s educational events around the region, the latest being the Vietnam Turfgrass Management Seminar.
The third event in the AGIF series of turfgrass management seminars and field days in 2016, the Jacobsen-sponsored event at Tan Son Nhat Golf Course in Ho Chi Minh City attracted more than 70 superintendents and course managers from 30 different Vietnamese clubs.
The two-day gathering featured a series of seminars on the first day, including presentations from five of the region’s most high-profile turfgrass experts and focused on communications with management and members, together with greens maintenance and renovation.
Jacobsen supported the event as a sponsor together with its Vietnamese dealer, Shriro Trading Co Ltd.
A field demonstration and equipment exhibition took place on day two, when Jacobsen showcased the Eclipse 122F walking greens mower on the putting green. Product Support Manager Josh Gagnuss conducted demonstrations.
Commenting on Jacobsen’s sponsorship of the event, Chuck Greif, Jacobsen’s Managing Director, Asia Pacific, said: “We are yet again delighted to have been a part of the AGIF series of Turfgrass Management Seminars as sponsors of this latest event.
“Jacobsen continues its commitment to supporting educational initiatives within the industry, and the Vietnam Turfgrass Management Seminar has definitely been a resounding success.
“We are very proud to be supporting the fantastic opportunities that AGIF is providing for golf course professionals across Asia.

“The demonstration of our Eclipse 122F greens mower was also a huge success. People who are not familiar with Jacobsen greens mowers are always surprised by the productivity and excellent quality of cut.
“Many course managers and superintendents were notably impressed with the product, and we have again been able to set-up a number of demonstrations at various golf courses as a result.”
Further AGIF Turfgrass Management Seminars are planned for this year and will be held in Indonesia and Malaysia.
