Published on July 7, 2016

AylwinDalian, China: A newly-founded golfing body is primed to ‘professionalise’ the golf industry in China.
The Golf Club Managers Committee (GCMC) is a non-profit organisation, formed by the golf club professional managers of China with ‘learning, sharing, gratitude and growth’ as its core values.
“The GCMC is a new milestone in the development of the Chinese golf industry,” said Dr Aylwin Tai, CCM, one of the driving forces behind the formation of the Committee, of which he will act as Director.
“It is the pioneer of a communication and learning platform for the Chinese golf industry, aiming to help Chinese golf professional managers in their learning and their development, further standardising industry practices, growing a larger resource of skilled talent and injecting new vitality into the industry.
“The GCMC is paving the way for standardisation and professionalism in the Chinese golf industry and, therefore, making a major contribution to its development under the guidance of the China Golf Association.”
A total of 36 founding members of GCMC were confirmed with Aylwin Tai nominated as Committee Director, Zhao Guoxiong as Vice Committee Director, and Wang Weichao as Vice Committee Director and Secretary General.
Chen Chaoxing, Fan Zhiqiang, Beta Soong and Arthur Yeo were named as consultants to the GCMC.
“In its 30 years of history, Chinese golf has endured many trials and hardships,” said Dr Tai. “Now the GCMC is a new start. With the GCMC, industry resources can gather together, providing many more chances for win-win co-operation, building a platform for exchanges and achieving an international standard.
“From this moment, the GCMC, together with all its professionals, will help the golf industry in China to develop a very bright future.”
