Troon, Scotland: Danish company Garia has entered into an international co-operation with Mercedes-Benz.
For Garia, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, the mission has always been to create luxurious golf cars for both the domestic and international market.
At Royal Troon this week, the new Mercedes Benz Style Edition Garia Golf Car has been launched.
This electric golf car offers details such as carbon fibre and leather, a cooling section, glass and bottle holders, a 10-inch touch-screen with an on-board computer, showing all the essential details such as distance to the current hole, weather forecast, speed and battery level.
Furthermore, it can stream sounds and phone calls via Bluetooth.
It was in 2005 that Garia entered a Mercedes-Benz design competition … and won.
Anders Lynge, a partner and designer for Garia, said: “In 2005, Mercedes-Benz saw what we saw – that there was room and a need in the market for luxurious golf cars. From this the co-operation became a reality.”
During the last 11 years, Garia has established a global network of more than 100 distributors and has developed new models that have been approved to be used on public roads.
Recently, Garia delivered 101 cars for the Jumeirah Hotel Group in Dubai, all with room for six people.
Garia is a privately held company, founded in 2005. Headquartered in Denmark, it has a subsidiary in the United States and sales offices in the United Kingdom and Asia Pacific.
