Bintan, Indonesia: Ria Bintan Golf Club’s upgraded Ocean Course is set to be unveiled.
A frequent award winner in polls about the Best Course in Indonesia, the Gary Player-sculpted layout has undergone renovation over the past 12 months.
But it’s now ready to bare its teeth at next month’s Ria Bintan Golf Challenge 2016.
“We look forward to welcoming players to our newly upgraded Ocean Course,” said a spokesperson for Ria Bintan Golf Club, a Golf Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation. “They’ll enjoy a smoother game with the same captivating views.”
To be staged on Saturday, July 16, the 18-hole tournament will use the System 36 Stroke Play format.
As well as covering the cost of the round, the IDR 2.18 million (about S$218) entry fee includes a  goodie bag, prize presentation luncheon, lucky draw and novelty prizes.
A special fee of IDR 2.78 million (about S$278) is available for those who also wish to include return ferry tickets to Singapore.
A cash prize of IDR 50 million (about S$5,000) is being offered for a hole-in-one at two of the par-threes while the grand prize is a one-year Ria Bintan Golf Club membership.
