Munich, Germany: Hilton has flipped the traditional hole-in-one prize on its head by rewarding fans with a share of one million Hilton HHonors points for the first hole-in-one made on the par-three 11th hole each day of the BMW International Open.
So when Sergio Garcia snared an ace during the second round, 25 fans won a share of 1,000,000 Hilton HHonors points – 40,000 Hilton Honors points each.
Meanwhile, Spaniard Garcia won one-week stay at any Hilton worldwide and is automatically upgraded to Diamond Elite status on Hilton HHonors.
Only fans wearing a Hilton wristband are eligible for a share of the points. Wristbands can be collected at the teeing area and in the Hilton Golf Experience in the Fan Zone.
HHonors is Hilton’s award-winning loyalty programme.
HHonors points can be used for several reasons, including free room nights, upgrades, as well as to win unique golf experiences such as spots in European Tour Pro-Ams and VIP Hospitality.
