Beijing, China: The 27 Club, one of Asia’s most ambitious golfing projects, has become the latest Affiliate course in the Pacific Links Golf Network [PLGN].
Located 90 minutes from the Chinese capital, the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Course Facility Member is destined to establish itself as a leading tournament venue.
Fred Couples, Greg Norman, Mark O’Meara, Vijay Singh, Tom Watson and Annika Sorenstam were among 27 Major championship winners to design their favourite elements into a hole at the course, reflecting the unique character of their individual games.
North American architects Beau Welling and Thomas McBroom managed the course’s construction.
Meanwhile, last year saw no fewer than 8,223 Pacific Links Golf Network members and guests travel to more than 100 clubs in the network – a 53% increase in travel year-over-year.
“With the addition of even more quality clubs in 2016, we anticipate that PLGN member travel will continue to increase,” said a spokesperson for Pacific Links, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
In the first quarter of 2016, Pacific Links welcomed a host of new Affiliate and Reciprocal properties in a variety of exciting destinations including France, Mauritius, Canada and South Korea.
“We anticipate growing our golf partnerships in the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Japan during the balance of 2016,” added the spokesperson.
Singapore: Michael Braidwood, one of the most respected educators on club management in the EMEA region, will be the presenter for the third instalment of the Asian Golf Industry Federation’s Sustainability Series.
