Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: In a symphony of banging drums, gongs and leaping lions, Kota Permai Golf and Country Club ushered in the Year of Monkey with a thrilling acrobatic and lion dance performance that attracted crowds of all ages.
Members, guests and visitors to the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility Member were dazzled by the antics of the Kwong Ngai lion dance troupe.
Kota Permai’s management also handed out ‘little red packets’ and cookie jars while light refreshments were served at the club’s main lobby.
Following the setting off of four large firecrackers, the ‘lions’ proceeded with blessings in various departments before presenting a prosperity tray consisting of a pomelo, pineapple and mandarin oranges to Gamuda Land Clubs Group General Manager Tang Meng Loon and Gamuda Land Clubs Senior Manager Sheren Yong.
Tang said: “The acrobatic and lion dance performance is on our calendar of events yearly and is a significant part of Chinese New Year. The Chinese New Year is also about culture and it is our aim to gather together club members and the local community.”
The lion dance troupe also performed at the Botanic Resort Club in Bandar Botanic, Klang, Kota Permai’s sister club.
