Hua Hin, Thailand: The winner of the 145th Open Championship won’t be the only golfer to raise aloft a Claret Jug on July 17.
While the ‘Champion Golfer of the Year’ will be crowned at Scotland’s Royal Troon Golf Club, the winner of the seventh Hyatt Open at Thailand’s award-winning Banyan Golf Club will also receive a trophy in a traditional silver Claret Jug design.
“The Hyatt Open has become the most talked-about event on our golfing calendar at Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin,” said
Stuart Daly, Director of Operations at Banyan, a Golf Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“Players are planning month ahead of time to ensure they get a place in July event. We are very excited to be hosting the seventh edition of the Hyatt Open this year.”
Held in association with the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin and Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, the 36-hole amateur event takes place on July 16-17, coinciding with the weekend rounds at Royal Troon in what is the year’s third Major championship.
For players who would like to compete, a special golf package starts from THB21,800 net [one player] and THB30,800 net [two players based on twin sharing basis].
The package includes:
- A two-night stay at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin with breakfast (or at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok or Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, terms and conditions apply).
- Two rounds of golf, including the awards lunch
- A welcome dinner at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin
