Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Gamuda Land Clubs brought festive cheer to residents from the Rumah Amal Murni in Kajang.
The annual charity event is organised by Gamuda Land Clubs and is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is aimed at spreading the joy of giving and sharing.
Rumah Amal Murni Kajang was established in 2005 and has 30 residents who are mentally and physically challenged, homeless and senior citizens.
Most have been abandoned in hospitals and neglected by their families. The home provides treatment for physically and mentally disordered patients.
The management and staff of Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility Member Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Botanic Resort Club and Jade Hills Resort Club tossed yee sang to usher in the Chinese New Year with an abundance of prosperity and good fortune.
Kota Permai committee members also joined hands in the charity visit. The management brought groceries and electrical items while residents were treated to lunch and received red packets and goodie bags … as well as sweets and oranges from the ‘God of Prosperity’.
“Gamuda Land Clubs believe in giving back to the community through its various community programmes in an endeavour to bring cheers to the less fortunate during major festive seasons,” said a club spokesman.
Such charity drives have become a hallmark of the club as part of its CSR drive since 2008.
The annual charity visits also aim to foster closer ties between Gamuda Land Clubs and the community.
