Rickie Fowler celebrates his win in Abu Dhabi.
Singapore: The winning ways continue for Titlest golf ball players, as
Jason Dufner, Rickie Fowler and
Duffy Waldorf each trusted a Pro V1 golf ball in victories on the worldwide professional Tours.
So far in 2016, 1,338 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in competition on the 2016 worldwide professional Tours, more than six times the nearest competitor with 219 and more than all competitors combined.
Counting these latest wins, Titleist’s 2016 victory total advances to 12. That’s four times the nearest competitor with three and more than all competitors combined.
Just moments after securing the title at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship,
Titleist golf ball loyalist Fowler (Pro V1) had a chance to put his sixth career victory across the worldwide professional tours into a bit of perspective. “This is a great start and hopefully this is just a start.”
Coming off a 2014-2015 campaign that included multiple wins, Fowler was looking to continue that success into the new season and his solid play over the weekend was evidence that he’s not looking to slow down.
Faced with a couple of late charges by the field on Sunday, Fowler steadied his nerves and went on to deliver a clutch performance coming down the stretch that included two hole-outs en route to a three-under 69 to post a winning score of 16-under 272.
He topped a leaderboard that included nine Titleist golf ball loyalists among the 10 players who finished among the top-five and ties, including the runner-up (Pro V1x) and
Henrik Stenson (Pro V1/T3).
All six players who tied for fifth place relied upon Titleist golf balls, including
Titleist Brand Ambassadors Jordan Spieth (Pro V1x) and
Byeong Hun-an (Pro V1x), as well as
Joost Luiten (Pro V1),
Marcel Siem (Pro V1x) and
Alejandro Canizares (Pro V1x).
Fowler advances to number four in the Official World Golf Ranking, the highest position of his career.
Titleist was the top golf ball choice among the field of 126 with 78 players, more than four times the nearest competitor with 17.
