Bali, Indonesia: Asian Golf Industry Federation [AGIF] Golf Facility Member New Kuta Golf has underlined its reputation as a championship venue.
A former host to the Indonesia Open, the spectacular 18-hole layout has once more earned plaudits in the wake of its successful staging of the 22nd Indonesia Men’s Amateur Open.
The oceanside course, designed by AGIF Full Business Member Golfplan, provided a tough but fair test for the international field, which included entrants from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand.
However, victory in the event that is open to players with a handicap of eight or better went to talented Indonesian teenager Naraajie Emerald Ramadhanputra.
The 15-year-old posted a four-round aggregate of four-under-par 284 to claim a notable wire-to-wire success.
Nine strokes off the pace in a distant second place was Rizchy Subakti with I Nyoman Pasek a further stroke back in third.
Meanwhile, New Kuta members and guests had their opportunity to shine in the New Kuta World Cup Charity Tournament.
More than 200 players teed-off in two shotgun starts while the Gala Dinner and prize presentation attracted 250 attendees.
Among the beneficiaries were the SLB Foundation, Dria Raba Foundation, Yayasan Kasih Peduli Anak and Bali Life Foundation.
A New Kuta Golf spokesperson said: “It was great to see so many locals and expatriates take such a keen interest in helping the club to raise awareness of these worthy causes.”
