Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:
Leroy Chiam,
June Yap and
Chong Chee Huat had cause for celebration after emerging triumphant in the 2015 Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) Club Championship.
With a three-round aggregate of 12-over 230 on the KLGCC’s West Course, Chiam posted a runaway victory in the Men’s Club Championship.
Such was his dominance that Chiam ended no fewer than 19 strokes clear of his nearest rival
Damian Yeoh Tay Seng with
Mohd Zaid Osman further in arrears in third place.
It was Chiam’s second Club Championship title having also won in 2012.
Yap, meanwhile, once more proved too strong for her opponents in the Ladies Club Championship.
Striking the ball consistently, Yap set the pace with a 36-hole total of 158 to keep hold of the trophy she captured last year. Runner-up was
Fatin Aiman with
Ireen Teng KG in third spot.
Also reuniting himself with a familiar piece of silverware was Chong Chee Huat.
The five-handicapper, winner in 2013, regained the Senior Club Championship. He topped the standings with a two-day tally of 157, two strokes ahead of second-placed
Azizul Mahmud and three in front of
Abdul Razak Jamaludin.
