Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Kota Permai Golf & Country Club has reaffirmed its status as Malaysia’s best maintained course.
For the fourth year in succession, the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility member scooped top honours in the Best Maintained Golf Course category at the Malaysian Golf Awards.
Tang Meng Loon, Gamuda Land Clubs’ Group General Manager, said: “The award is a tremendous boost to the entire Kota Permai team who are so committed in delivering exceptional results.
“We do not take success for granted and are constantly striving for improvement on the golf course, facilities and services.
“Our success is also attributable to the great emphasis we place in regard to attention to detail while we always encourage constructive feedback from our members and guests.”
Kota Permai was also among the nominees in the Best Golf Experience and Best Golf Club categories. Its sister club, Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, was nominated in the Best Overall Golf Experience and Best Maintained Course categories.
Jonathan Ponniah, ParGolf’s Managing Editor, said: “Kota Permai Golf & Country Club’s continued reign as the Best Maintained Golf Course in Malaysia is testament to the club’s on-going commitment to the highest maintenance levels. The greens are rightfully acknowledged as the best in the country, while the excellent overall conditions rank it among the best golfing experiences in Asia.”
Formerly known as the ParGolf Awards, the Malaysian Golf Awards celebrate the best golfers, golf clubs, equipment brands and corporate companies that have contributed to the development of the sport in the country. “We hope these awards will further encourage each nominee to reach even greater heights and be an inspiration to all,” said Suzannah Palmer, ParGolf’s Publisher.
There were a total of 22 award categories, comprising 11 voted awards and 11 special awards. The voted award winners were selected by a 50-strong panel of golf industry personalities appointed by ParGolf and the Malaysian Golf Association, combined with an on-line poll for selected categories.
Further success for Kota Permai came at the fourth annual IAGTO Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) in Jakarta where Kota Permai was among the recipients of IAGTO’s Diamond Award.
Golf courses in six countries in the Asia Pacific region were recognised for the excellence of their facilities and service in the 2015 IAGTO Excellence Awards.
Kong Ai Lin, Kota Permai’s Manager – Marketing Communication, said: “What makes Kota Permai Golf & Country Club stand out among the rest of the pack is the quality of our golf course, with fast and consistent greens which provides golfers an exhilarating golf experience.”
