Ohio, United States: Tam O’Shanter Golf Course will be the venue for the sixth Symposium on Affordable Golf [SOAG].
To be staged on October 12-13, the SOAG is free to attend for everyone. A spokesman said the event ‘is not a success unless the golfer is an integral part of our discussions’.
Members of the PGA, LPGA and the GCSAA will earn Continuing Education Credits for attending the Symposium.
The spokesman added: “Golfers are the most critical people to the SOAG because everything we discuss has a direct line to the ones we all in the industry serve the most: the golfer. With one of the highest golfer participation rates in the country, Northeast Ohio attendance should be the best ever.”
Topics this year include individual presentations as well as panel discussions and interactive group discussions.
“As a group, we will create our own business model for golf and learn directly from golfers as to what their true needs, wants and desires may be,” said the spokesman, revealing that the speaker line-up includes Debbie Waitkus, President and Founder of Golf for Cause, Roberto Balestrini, Founder of the American FootGolf League, and Kevin Kane, Publisher and Editor of the Virginia Golf Report.
“We will continue to explore the meaning of affordable golf and how we all can learn from mistakes of the past and adopt ideas for the future.
“The Symposium on Affordable Golf is an effort to make the game and the business of golf a better product to be enjoyed for generations to come.”
