Scotsman Stewart Signs up With STS

Singapore: Scotsman Peter Stewart is to join Sports Turf Solutions [STS] as a Sales Consultant for the Singapore and Malaysia markets.
A veteran of more than 14 years in the industry, Stewart, who will take up his post next month, has worked at a handful of high-profile golf clubs around the world.
Born and bred in St Andrews, Stewart will be based out of the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Well versed in all aspects of modern golf course maintenance, construction and grow in, Stewart brings with him a wealth of technical, administrative and management experience.
Brad Burgess, Managing Director and Owner of STS, said: “Peter’s main role with STS is to continue to offer a high level of agronomy and turf nutrition support to the local and expat turf managers in Singapore and Malaysia.
“Peter has been fortunate to work with some of the best superintendents in preparing courses for some of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments.”
Upon completion of his full-time National Certificate Golf Course Management, Stewart secured a greenkeeping position within the St Andrews Links Trust where he learned all fundamental aspects of greenkeeping. Among many events on the Old Course with which he was involved was the Open Championship in 2000 and 2005.
Stewart has also worked at Australia’s Royal Melbourne Golf Club, TPC Sawgrass in America and the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai as well as being invited by Augusta National Golf Club to assist with the set-up for the Masters.
Stewart, who also spent three years as Director of Sales and Marketing, Europe and Asia, for Subair Systems, said: “I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity to work in Asia and to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.”
STS is a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
