Paula Creamer will defend her HSBC Women’s Champions title at Sentosa next week.
Singapore: Defending champion
Paula Creamer is confident of mounting a strong title defence in next week’s HSBC Women’s Champions at Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong Course.
“I have so many wonderful memories of Sentosa and that’s what’s exciting for me as I know I played great there and I just have to go out and do it again,” said the American, who triumphed with a dramatic 75-foot eagle putt on the first hole of sudden-death play-off last year.
“The golf course is just awesome. It’s a great test of golf, it tests every ability, off the tee, your irons, your putting, your short game, every part of it.
“It’s a great week and HSBC does such a good job of hosting us. They do a great job making us feel welcome.”
Asked about her approach to this year’s event at the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility Member club, she added: “I feel like I am relaxed, I feel good. Defending your title is a different feeling. It’s a little bit of added pressure but I’ve always played very well at this golf course and I feel like I can do that again and just be in a good mindset. Only good things can happen when you are in that situation.”
At Sentosa from March 5-8, Creamer will join a star-studded field that includes the world’s top 10 ranked golfers.
