Shenzhen, China: Mission Hills is to host a dynamic new golf convention for leading industry professionals and brands that will deliver a huge boost to the sport in Asia.
The Asia Golf Congress – backed by the PGA of America, China Golf Association and R&A and supported by the Asian Golf Industry Federation – will be the biggest business to business golf gathering in the region.

Organised in partnership with Reed Guanghe Exhibitions, it will be held at Mission Hills Shenzhen-Dongguan, the world’s largest golf facility, from November 10-12, 2015.

“As Asia’s most recognisable golf and leisure brand and a pioneer in developing the sport across the region, we are delighted to be hosting the inaugural Asia Golf Congress,” said Tenniel Chu, Vice Chairman, Mission Hills Group.

“This exciting new event will bring together industry leaders, top trade professionals and key stakeholders for a series of one-to-one business meetings, workshops, practical demonstrations and networking opportunities.

The Asia Golf Congress was formally announced in a press conference at Mission Hills attended by VIPs including Wang Yanmei, Vice Chairman of the CGA, and Sean Riley, representing the PGA of America.

Iain Roberts, Group Executive Director of Mission Hills, told the press conference: “We are honoured to provide a world class platform for golf industry exhibitors to demonstrate products and services, as well as to share industry ideas.

“We are assured that, by the great support from all parties, the Asia Golf Congress will deliver more value to our customers and will advance and improve the profession of the golf industry.”

Also represented at the press conference were the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Golf Course Builders Association of America, Asian Golf Industry Federation and the Forward Group, which will host its ninth Golf Industry Forum alongside the Asia Golf Congress.

“We’re delighted to partner with the China Golf Association and PGA of America to co-produce the Asia Golf Congress next year and make a real splash in the region’s golf market,” said Josephine Lee, General Manager, Reed Guanghe Exhibitions.

“We hope the congress can deliver substantial trade-boosting qualities with a focus on the one-to-one aspect of the event.

“We want to elevate the profile of Asian golf worldwide by bringing together the most influential and best-known personalities and brands in the golf trade to learn from one another and do business.”

Establishing the Asia Golf Congress is part of a wider move by Reed Guanghe Exhibitions to restructure its golf shows in China to meet maturing market demands.
