Nick Faldo gets to work behind the bar at Urban Fairways.
Singapore: Golfers at Urban Fairways revelled in a priceless experience when Sir
Nick Faldo made an unannounced visit to Singapore’s first indoor golf facility.
The six-time Major champion’s surprise appearance was in association with the MasterCard Legends Academy held at Sentosa Golf Club as part of the Priceless Singapore programme.
At 7 pm he arrived at the venue of the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility Member and made his way to one of the golf simulators where three players were entered into a shootout – trying to win a place at the Legends Academy event.
Dilip Ghosh, Managing Director at Urban Fairways, said: “What a legend! Sir Nick delighted the three entrants and then went on to enter the shootout himself.
“Showing he’s still a great golfer he put his ball just 10 feet from the pin on the par-three 11th at St Andrews – a hole he knows well. Our clients were absolutely delighted with the experience.”
Participant and Urban Fairways member
Jeff Plein said: “That was the greatest golfing experience of my life!”
After spending some time with the participants, Sir Nick moved downstairs where he mingled with a surprised audience.
Faldo joined in the fun at Urban Fairways.
He also found time to go behind the bar where he demonstrated his ability to ‘pull’ a beer at Urban Fairways, an inner city golfing oasis consistently ranked in the top-25 Singapore attractions on Trip Advisor.
Urban Fairways features three state-of-the-art Full Swing Golf simulators, 52 golf courses, and a selection of the latest golf equipment from Titleist.
