Aalborg, Denmark: Asian Golf Industry Federation Full Business Member Garia played a leading role in the return of the European Tour to Denmark after an absence of more than a decade.
The inaugural Made in Denmark tournament was held last month at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort with Scotland’s Marc Warren emerging victorious.
A 100% privately owned Danish company headquartered outside of Greve, close to Copenhagen, where all design and development is made, Garia acted as the Official Golf Car of the tournament.
The tournament will be played at the North Jutland venue through 2016, carrying a prize fund of €1.5 million, with €270,000 on offer to the winner.
Ian Poulter was triumphant the only previous time the European Tour has staged a tournament on Danish soil, the Englishman beating Colin Montgomerie by a single stroke in the 2003 Nordic Open, held in the capital city Copenhagen.
In the northern part of Denmark, Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort boasts two 18-hole courses as well as a hotel with spa and wellness areas and has a fleet of more than 50 Garia golf cars.
A company spokesman said: “Garia is driven by our passion for golf and to celebrate our participation in the European Tour event we have introduced an Edition Golf Car available at a special price.”
The campaign is limited to 15 cars and offers two different designs; the red and the white version.
