Angkor Amateur Open’s Enduring Appeal

Angkor flyer2-AAO-2014Siem Reap, Cambodia: The Nick Faldo-designed Angkor Golf Resort will take centre stage when the club plays host to the sixth edition of the Angkor Amateur Open.
To be held from August 8-10, the event is once more expected to attract a top-quality field from around the world.
David Baron, Director of Golf at the Asian Golf Industry Federation Golf Facility member, said the hospitality of Angkor Golf Resort and the club’s close proximity to Angkor Wat were both major attractions.
He said: “Now into its sixth year the event has gone from strength to strength, securing full fields well in advance. Historically, 70 per cent of the field is repeating participants who travel across the globe to take part – and we expect a similar figure this year.”
Open to men and women, the event consists of one practice round and two tournament rounds as well as a golf clinic staged by an Asian Tour professional.
In total, there are four nett divisions. The overall champion will be the player who posts the lowest 36-hole gross score.
Included in the entry fee of US$295 are three rounds of golf, a player gift pack, two buffet lunches and a welcome Gala Dinner at the five-star Victoria Angkor Resort and Spa. Drinks are free flowing during tournament days.
Packages are also available which include accommodation at the Victoria Hotel. For further details, please visit www.angkor-golf.com or contact info@angkor-golf.com
