Kota Permai Maintains its Prime Billing

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Kota Permai Golf & Country Club’s status as one of Malaysia’s finest venues has been reaffirmed at the ParGolf Gala Awards.

For the third year in succession, Kota Permai, the first Malaysian club to sign up as a Golf Facility member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, was named by the magazine as the Best Maintained Golf Course in the country.
The Kuala Lumpur club, known for its immaculate putting surfaces and vibrant club atmosphere, also received a nomination in the Best Golf Club category.
On behalf of Kota Permai, Dato’ Goon Heng Wah, Gamuda’s Executive Director, received the awards from Saidi Bundan, Director of Industry Development-Tourism Malaysia at the Saujana Hotel.
Meanwhile, Johor Bahru’s Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, Kota Permai’s sister club, also received nominations in both Best Golf Club and Best Maintained Golf Course categories.
Tang Meng Loon, Gamuda Land Group General Manager of Club Operations and Township, said: “It is a tremendous honour for both clubs to receive the awards. I would like to thank the strong teamwork and dedication of our highly committed staff, members’ co-operation and the continuous support of the media and golfers’ alike. This award simply exemplifies our commitment to excellence.”

Jonathan Ponniah, ParGolf’s Managing Editor, said: “Kota Permai is a deserving winner of the Best Maintained Golf Course award for the third year running as the club continues to set the standards and raise the bar for course maintenance in the country. Golfers can always expect superb golfing conditions at Kota Permai with lightning fast greens, which can be primed to roll at speeds of more than 12 on the Stimpmeter.” 
On Horizon Hills, Ponniah said: “Since it opened for play in 2008, Horizon Hills has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the best courses in not only in Malaysia. The Ross Watson layout exemplifies risk-reward golf and is consistently maintained to the highest standards.”
