Bali, Indonesia: Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort has been awarded the coveted Diamond Award at the inaugural IAGTO Excellence Awards.
The Balinese club was among four elite recipients of the award, alongside sister golf resorts Mission Hills Haikou and Mission Hills Shenzhen in China and Danang Golf Club in Vietnam
Presented at Mission Hills on the tropical island of Hainan, this new award recognises courses assessed by IAGTO which offer the best possible experience to the visiting golf traveller.
IAGTO is the global trade organisation for the golf tourism industry, comprising more than 2,100 companies in 97 countries. The organisation carries over a decade of experience in golf tourism audits of over 250 golf courses and resorts worldwide, assessing each course through the eyes of a first-time golf visitor.
IAGTO Chief Executive Peter Walton said: “This is more than just an award. These presentations mark the beginning of a new IAGTO Certification programme through which we will identify, recognise and highlight the best golf travel experiences that every country worldwide has to offer.”
Designed by Australian great Greg Norman, the Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Golf Course boasts five oceanside holes, three cliff-to-cliff tee shots with eight other holes gently sweeping through the traditional Balinese rice paddies.
Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort General Manager Ivan Casadevall said: “We are very honoured to have our unique guest experience acknowledged by IAGTO with this Diamond award.
“Being recognised in the same category as Mission Hills and Danang Golf Club is an amazing accomplishment for our Pan Pacific Resort here in Bali.”
