The Asian Golf Industry Federation provided support for the 2011 Sustainable Turfgrass Management Seminar held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 14th-16th. The seminar was organized by the Thailand Golf Superintendents Association and theAsianTurfgrassCenter on behalf of the Thailand Golf Association.
This year’s event had a record attendance of 207 professionals from 19 different countries. The R&A provides substantial funding for the event and AGIF supported by funding the translation and printing of the seminar books and transportation used during the Annual Asian Turfgrass Field Day where participants shuttled between Pattaya, Siam Country Club, Bangpra Golf Club, Khaw Kheow Country Club and Laem Chabang Country Club. Kudos to AGIF members who provided aeration, spraying and mowing equipment for practical demonstrations during the Field Day. The Field Day ended with fun golf at Laem Chabang Country Club’s pitch and putt course and a Hawaiian-themed dinner party hosted by the Thai GCSA.
