Laguna Lang Co’s Pledge to Juniors

Coaches will engage kids using the SNAG Golf System

Lang Co, Hue, Vietnam: Laguna Lang Co has underlined its commitment to supporting junior golf development in Vietnam.

Ahead of its hosting of the 15th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final on April 25-26, the Asian Golf Industry Federation Facility Member has been helping local kids at Loc Vinh school embark on a golf journey by way of fun coaching sessions.

“Support for the junior game in Vietnam and throughout Asia is an integral part of our philosophy. It’s reflected in our long-term status as the home hub for the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final,” said Stephen Banks, Director of Golf at Laguna Lang Co.

Alongside colleagues from the golf operations team at Laguna Lang Co, Banks has been guiding children at Loc Vinh school on golf basics using the SNAG Golf System, which utilises tennis-style golf balls and targets for fun, effective and fast skills development.

During the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, the children will have the opportunity to meet six-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo who will conduct group coaching sessions.

Banks said the strong performances of Nguyen Anh Minh and Le Khanh Hung at last year’s Grand Final was an indication of the young golfing talent emerging from Vietnam.

Minh became the first Vietnamese player to win the championship, while Hung placed equal third. The following month they were part of the Vietnam line-up that won the silver medal in the team competition at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia.

Banks said: “It was brilliant to see a Vietnamese champion and strong performances from other Vietnamese juniors last year (at the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final). It’s going to be fascinating to see if they can repeat that performance this time around.

“The future of golf in Vietnam is in the hands of the juniors, and we are determined to help their development.”
