Guildford, Surrey, England: Market intelligence and data analytics company Sporting Insights has announced several new staff appointments ahead of its move to new offices this month.

Data engineer Abbie Adeola has recently joined the market intelligence services team that is delivering rapid growth and significant technological advancement under division head Robert Cobain.

New and upcoming services include the Outdoor Market Intelligence Service (MIS) and the Spanish Cycling Market Intelligence Service.

“This is an incredibly important role for the future of the business,” said Richard Payne, joint Managing Director at Sporting Insights, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

Payne added: “We were impressed by Abbie’s knowledge and attitude as well as his passion for data technology, computing, and sport and active lifestyles.

“His experience and knowledge is going to allow us to drive forward our plans for our MIS offering, ensuring we deliver a world-class product to the industry while keeping up with technological advances and developing the skills of our wider team.”

Additional to Adeola’s arrival, Sporting Insights also announced that David Lloyd has moved to a permanent role within the research and insights team, transitioning from the maternity cover role he had previously been occupying.

Payne added: “David has proved himself instrumental in all of the projects he has run over the last six months, and we’re delighted that he will continue to be a valuable member of Erica Healy’s research and insights team going forwards.”

Sporting Insights’ research and insights division grew strongly in 2023, offering evidence-based analysis of the issues faced by sports manufacturers, retailers, federations, and venues as well as proposing solutions backed by the data.

Meanwhile, after more than two decades at its headquarters at The Courtyard in Wisley, Sporting Insights, formerly known as Sports Marketing Surveys, is moving to the Surrey Research Park in Guildford this month.

Speaking about the move, John Bushell, joint Managing Director, said: “As working patterns have shifted, we have increasingly taken advantage of the appetite for remote working to recruit excellent team members from further afield.

“As we’ve done that, it’s become apparent that easier access to and from a major public transport and travel hub like Guildford is important for allowing our team the flexibility we want to be able to provide.

“We’re excited about this new move and the chance to offer our team and clients the amenities that the nearby Surrey Sports Park has to offer.”
