GCSAA Elects White as President

Lawrence, Kansas, United States: Jeff White, a certified superintendent, has been elected to a one-year term as President of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

White is the 87th President in the association’s history. He served as Vice President of the association in 2023 and has been a member of the association’s Board of Directors since 2018.

A 33-year member of the GCSAA, White is also a Past President of the Heart of America GCSA.

White is Director of Agronomy at Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills, Kansas, where he has worked since 2013. He previously held superintendent positions at Lake Quivira Country Club and Falcon Ridge Golf Course, both in Kansas. Prior to that, he also held assistant superintendent positions at Lake Quivira Country Club and Alvamar Country Club in Kansas.

White has a bachelor’s degree in horticulture/turf management from Iowa State University.

In addition to White, chapter delegates elected TA Barker, Superintendent at Fore Lakes Golf Course in Utah, as Vice President, and Paul Carter, Superintendent at The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay in Tennessee, as Secretary/Treasurer.

At the association’s annual meeting on February 1, held in conjunction with the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in Phoenix, Board members Douglas Dykstra, Superintendent at Arizona’s White Mountain Country Club, and Marc Weston, Superintendent at Indian Hill Country Club in Connecticut, were re-elected to serve on the Board, while Gregory Jones, Director of Agronomy at Champions Run in Nebraska, was newly elected to join the Board as a Director. 

Steven Hammon, Superintendent at Michigan’s Traverse City Country Club, and Scott Griffith, Director of Agronomy at the University of Georgia Golf Course, continue their service on the Board.

Kevin Breen, Superintendent at California’s La Rinconada Country Club, will serve one year as immediate Past President, while Mark Jordan, Natural Resource Leader at Ohio’s Westfield Country Club, retires from the Board.
