Singapore: Chris Gray will lead a strong Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) presence at this week’s inaugural Asia Golf Convention (AGC).
To be held at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) on November 14, the half-day AGC is part of the Singapore Golf Association’s (SGA) inaugural Golf Week.
The AGIF is a Supporting Partner for the Convention that features a strong line-up of leaders from the region’s golfing community.
Gray, President of the AGIF, said: “Congratulations to the Singapore Golf Association on launching this initiative which will bring together industry gurus and sports officials from across Asia to share their insights on a wide range of topics that impact all of us in the golf industry.”
Gray, Head of Sustainable Golf and Agronomy, Asia-Pacific at The R&A, will take part in a panel discussion entitled The Business Case for Sustainable Golf that also includes fellow AGIF Board Member Andy Johnston (General Manager at Sentosa Golf Club), Ian Roberts (SICC General Manager) and SGA General Manager Joshua Ho.
The welcome address will be delivered by Bones Floro on behalf of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, while senior figures from national golfing associations in Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam will also be playing an active role.
“Our inaugural SGA Golf Week will play a pivotal role in shaping the golf eco-system, not only in Singapore but also the region,” said Tan Chong Huat, President of the SGA, an Associate Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“We look forward to working with our partners and stakeholders to promote and enhance the golfing culture and landscape in the region,” he added.
