Singapore: Smartscore Global, one of the most progressive and fastest-growing technology companies in golf, has joined the Asian Golf Industry Federation as an Executive Member.

A Korean company founded in 2015, Smartscore Global enjoys over 75 per cent penetration of Korean golf courses and reaches more than 3.4 million golfers in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Over the past two years, the company has expanded rapidly across the region, its offerings integrating seamlessly into golf clubs in Southeast Asia with a presence in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand (10 golf courses) and Vietnam (13 golf courses).

With Yeom In-wook at the helm as Chief Executive Officer, Smartscore Global is committed to continuing its global expansion with grandiose ambitions of joining the ranks of the top companies in the golf industry.

“As Smartscore Global continues to break new ground, we’re pleased to become a member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation,” said Bangkok-based Yeom, a graduate MBA of the Rotterdam School of Business at Erasmus University.

A career technology professional who spent 15 years cutting his teeth in international business when living in Europe and Asia, Yeom was a panellist on the topic of Evolution of Digital & Technology in Golf at this week’s inaugural Asia Golf Convention in Singapore.

AGIF President Chris Gray, who also spoke at the Convention at the Singapore Island Country Club, said: “We welcome In-wook and Smartscore Global to the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“It’s fascinating to witness the way in which technology is progressing and advancing so many areas of the golf industry. With their remarkable growth in Korea initially and now around Southeast Asia, Smartscore Global is at the cutting edge.”

He said: “It’s Smartscore Global’s aim to digitalise all aspects of the golf industry, connecting golfers and golf clubs for an innovating golf experience.

“As a company that has created the first case of combining golf and IT in the domestic Korean market, our intention is now to take the lead in the advancement of the global golf market.

“With our development of a new golf culture, Smartscore Global is committed to contributing to the development of the tourism industry as well as the golf industry in Southeast Asia … and revolutionising the golfer experience on a global scale.”
